AZ Maria Middelares
A first client was a major milestone for our new company, and we are happy that we reached it with Maria Middelares!
We were honoured to be selected by AZ Maria Middelares to support their sustainability ambitions. As a long-standing leader in sustainable healthcare, their commitment sets a powerful example for the sector.
In February 2025, NZHI launched a sustainability audit in collaboration with Evelien Van Poucke and Isabel Verniers. The first phase, a CO₂ scan based on our proprietary tool covering 10 domains, has been completed. The results provided a clear picture of the hospital’s main emission sources.
Based on our sustainability report and close collaboration with doctors, nurses, purchasers, and hospital employees, we identified the most impactful actions and summarized them in AZ Maria Middelares’ Roadmap 2030.
Now it’s time to implement those actions. Let this be the starting point to decarbonize the Belgian healthcare sector, and beyond!
